Over 70 Research Projects Aligned with Pemex

The Mexican Institute of Petroleum (IMP) has more than 70 research projects aligned with Pemex, one of which is the Offshore Technology Center which is expected to set in the port of Veracruz, says agency head, Héber Five Law. He said that the IMP manages the creation of a network of centers of technology development, in order to exploit the country's capabilities in the service of the national oil industry. Under the Seminar Contributions to the Reform Debate On Energy, conducted by the Academy of Engineering (AE), he explained that deposits in deep waters have become the main source of new reserves offshore, and replace part of the production Conventional deposits. According to a release, Five Law states that this requires acquire the knowledge to manage and absorb new technologies, and have an efficiency in the execution of projects in the field of deep waters. The goals are aimed at improving practices for the planning, design fields, high efficiency in execution of projects, improved seismic images in salt environment, detecting bodies of thin sands and better interpretation and modeling of subsurface, among others.
